The essay traces the history of «Griseldaonline», a journal of the Classical Philology and Italian Studies Department of the Bologna University, one of the first in Italy edited in digital format dealing with studies of Italian literature. The rhizomatic structure of «Griseldaonline» supports the hypertextual functions of the network, sharing a multiplicity of paths and knowledge with scholars and simple enthusiasts. The latest metamorphosis of «Griseldaonline» led to a separation between the ‘journal’ (of an academic field) and the ‘site’ (of dissemination), also in this case responding to the in-depth needs of the scientific community and the desire to dialogue a vast audience, always with a view to openness and sharing in the knowledge that the network is able to guarantee.
